L’esprit des Lieux, Como, Bologna, Budrio, Crespellano

On the occasion of Artefiera 2017, the exhibition project “L’esprit
des Lieux” by Jacques Toussaint arrives in Bologna, after being
hosted in the former Church of San Francesco in Como (now
Spazio Culturale Antonio Ratti).
The exhibition presents a series of installations developed from
the Canticle of the Creatures of St. Francis and oriented to retrace
the traces of the simple life of the monk.
The site-specific installations of the artist now find space in three
locations in the metropolitan area of Bologna: the Budrio Water
Towers, the Romanesque basilica of Santi Vitale and Agricola of the
complex of the Seven Churches of Santo Stefano di Bologna, the
church of San Francesco in Valsamoggia in the territory of Crespellano.

The audiovisual production and light installations of Jacques Toussaint
relate three very particular places in the Bologna area, uniting them in
an intimate dialogue between the artist and the journey of Saint Francis
and the specificity of the different spaces.
