Rodčenko was one of the leaders of geometric abstractionism in the Russian avant-garde of the 1920s, he expressed the beauty of technology and modern architecture.
I was especially interested in his photographic vision derived from the authentic impression of a passerby observing architecture.
As with Rodčenko, I find the most interesting perspectives in these photos of mine to be from bottom to top and top to bottom, and by harnessing them in the square format I tried to render a futuristic dynamism, eager to impose movement on the static nature of imposing architecture, simply by deliberately emphasizing perspective and depth with particular angles.
Rodčenko fu uno dei capiscuola dell’astrattismo geometrico nell’avanguardia russa degli anni venti, espresse la bellezza della tecnologia e dell’architettura moderna.
Mi interessava soprattutto la sua visione fotografica derivante dall’autentica impressione di un passante che osserva l’architettura.
Come per Rodčenko, in queste mie foto trovo che le prospettive più interessanti siano dal basso in alto e dall’alto in basso, e imbrigliandole nel formato quadrato ho cercato di rendere un dinamismo futurista, desideroso di imporre il movimento alla staticità di architetture imponenti, semplicemente mettendo deliberatamente in risalto la prospettiva e la profondità con particolari angolazioni.
